Take a picture of yourself right now. Don’t change your clothes. Don’t fix your hair. Just take a picture. Post that picture with no editing. (Except maybe to get the image size down to something reasonable. Don’t go posting an eight megapixel image.) Include these instructions.

Today is one of those days where I absolutely loathe my appearance and can hardly stand to look in a mirror. The idea of leaving the house nearly brings me to tears. Normally this is no more than an annoyance because I (a) have to go out anyway to work or school, or (b) I can just stay home and feel bad. Unfortunately, however, today is the Tokio Hotel concert and staying home and moping isn't an option. I have been waiting for this day for a long, long time and it pisses me off that my red is fading and my hair won't cooperate and I feel fat. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

I need some caffeine but as I called in sick to work I don't know how that's going to happen.

Schwerlos came up on my iPod today (it was shuffling all music) and it reminded me just how much I love the wee laddies and the Devilish album. It made me happy.

Ugh, I feel lame for complaining when some of us have had surgery to remove nasty pockets of liquid from our vocal chords, but man, I feel like shit. I have a massive cold that started as a bad throat (that I chalked up to...certain unsavoury habits) and has now taken up full residence in my head. My cheeks hurt, my sinuses hurt, my jaw hurts, my teeth hurt, my neck hurts, my ears hurt...everything hurts and my nose is running a mile a minute and I am still coughing up nasty phlegm stuff.

I am still somewhat irrationally upset with NYU for letting me in and then making it so completely impossible to pay for. I wish they had just rejected me, it would make it easier.

And my hair looks like crap.

And I am almost 100% sure that I did not get the counselor job that I wanted for this summer. I'm disappointed but not too surprised, I am the girl that things to not work out for but this cold is making it more difficult to pick up and move on.

It is a good thing that Bill's surgery happened and went well and that it is Georg's birthday today/tomorrow!

Heh, LJ gets all my angsty whiny emo garbage, doesn't it? Oh, you poor bastards on my flist.... *g*

...Cos I need a haircut. I was just going to get a trim, but then today it occurred to me to get it cut kind of chin-length. I suppose kind of like a bob? I don't know. Short hair has a tendency to make my face look even rounder than it is, and I don't need that. ::sigh::

Wow, my life is so filled with drama and emotion and excitement that the only thing that I can think of to LJ about is whether or not a haircut would make me look fat. *LOL*

Huh. Today is Easter Sunday, which means that my 40 Lenten Vegetarian stint is officially over. I'm celebrating with Bacon Cheezeburgers for dinner tonight. Thing is, I'm not 100% that I really want to go back to eating meat. As much as I've bitched and moaned about it, it has made me feel better. I don't know about physically (I eat so much other crap that I can't tell a difference), but mentally? Definitely. Eating meat has a tendency to leave me feeling guilty and uncomfortable with myself. No meat = no problem. (In that way).

That being said? I really love some meat things, and I don't want to go completely without them... ::chews nails::

Is it possible to be mostly vegetarian? Like, generally not eat meat but have the occasional burger or meatballs or hot dog or piece of bacon? It's kind of cheating, I guess, and so not even hardcore, but that might be how it's gonna be, unless I manage to kick this entirely.

I feel like a smoker who is saying "I'm quitting, except maybe a cigarette once in a while, but that doesn't count." ::blush:: Though, knowing me, that's no surprise. Heh heh heh.

Oh, fucking hell. Once again I find myself in the position of wanting to punch a lot of people in the face. People that I like. I don't enjoy this feeling, because, well...

::sighs::

Sorry. I just got a big dose of negative this morning, which was not a fun way to start out the day. And there has been a lot of negative around lately, it's not just this morning.

Is it too much to ask to just love the band and support that, without calling the end of the world every five minutes and then getting into long arguments about...things that won't change?

Fuck, I wish to goodness that factors hadn't combined to result in all these cancellations in the 1000 Hotels tour. The fact that Bill is laid up in bed is, itself filled with suck, but with every show cancelled it feels like a stab in the heart, and I wasn't even going to any of them.

Yeah, it sucks that they are announcing the US dates as they are cancelling the other ones. But when the fuck else are they supposed to do it? The day before? That wouldn't work. At all.

We all know that the whole situation sucks. We all wish that the band weren't put in the position to be cancelling shows, to have it look like they are abandoning one fanbase for another. But sniping at each other? That isn't going to help anything.

It's getting to the point that I almost don't even want to come online, and I know that's not the end of the world and doesn't really have an effect on...anything..., but it sucks for me.

::sigh, part deux::

I'm going to go do my best to find a picture of Tom's dreads.

This is all [info]dreamhunter's fault.

1. Put your music player on "random." Skip songs with not-very interesting titles (such as "Concerto #4 in E minor").
2. List the titles of the first 25 songs to come up.
3. Put "in my pants" after each title.
4: Bold the answers that make you laugh.

I am getting increasingly more and more frustrated with with discrepancies between the subtitles on my Zimmer 483 DVD. I've watched it with English, Italian and Spanish, and they're all different. ::sigh:: They're obviously basically the same, but some conversation bits are different.

It doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the DVD at all (in fact, it might enhance it!), but serves as an incentive to learn German already. So I can know what they're dang saying.

I bought the Scream (Tokio Hotel, obviously) music video on iTunes, and, while watching it, I have to keep hitting the pause button because things keep jumping out at me. I can't think of anywhere to dump this, so LJ is the lucky recipient.

BTW, if you have either never seen these videos or are not very familiar with them and do not have them close at hand, here are YouTube links: Schrei (2005) and Scream (2007).

One thing that I noticed right off the bat, that won't show up in the YouTubes, is that the iTunes version was rather pixellated, which bothered me. If I am paying, I want quality. Grrr.

They used a clip of Gustav from the original right near the beginning...I guess they figure that he hasn't changed much in two years?

I love that Bill is wearing the same shirt & jacket in both versions, it's a nice touch.

They added in a lot more chicks making out in the English version, which strikes me as weird. Maybe they figured, since they had so much success with the first one (that bit shows up in nearly every clip from Schrei) that they ought to put in more? Huh.

Dude! They totally put in a clip of Mini!Tom in the English one, too! ::ahem::

OK, I just watched both versions, side by side. It was kind of confusing and hard to really pay attention to both at once, but I did noticed that they re-used a lot of footage of all three boys, except for Bill.

The final verdict? I like Schrei better than Scream. And not just because I have a love thing for Schrei!Bill. The original video exudes a kind of...raw, rough & tumble feeling, like the boys (and all the other people at the party) really are running around, jumping up and down, and generally having a crazy, awesome time, fuck it all if someone gets hurt or something gets broken or beer spilled on it. Maybe I just see the younger boys as being more tough little firecrackers than the more grown-up versions of themselves, but the re-done version of the video seems to lack that spark.

Who knows how I'll feel after watching it a few dozen more times...It's still TH and I still love it.

I was looking at my list of things that are happening in 2008 and half of them have already happened!

Awesome Things to Come in 2008
THA becomes Official
Scream finally released in USA
Bb's come back from vacation all healthy and shiny
All done with college applications
A decent dyejob
Tattoos?
1000 Hotels Tour
MaybeTHintheUS?
Tom shows the dreads
A Little Friendly Advice comes out

The remaining ones? Well, Hopefully we will get the notification about Official status within the next few weeks (::bites nails::). Scream is dropping April 15th. As soon as I find my purple hair dye, my hair will hopefully look proper. 1000 Hotels Tour starts on Monday.

So the only one that is truly a mystery is Tom's dreads. But I'm crossing my fingers.

Here is my Catcher in the Rye essay for AP English. The entire thing, apart from the first paragraph and the first two sentences of the second, was frantically written during last period today (the absolute last deadline to turn it in. late.), hence the rushed ending.
